This new type of flying robot is very small and light - it weighs almost the same as a toothpick - it can land on your finger. Small flitters are also capable of flying unmanned and powered by lasers.
This is a big leap in the design of small air bots, which are usually too small to support the power source and have to track the lifeline to a remote battery to fly.
Dubbed (RoboFly), and like its animal name, it has a pair of transparent smooth wings that carry it into the air.
The miniature bot uses a lightweight onboard circuit to turn the laser light into enough electrical power to send it soaring.
