Description
look let's face it, personal websites are dead. like, so passed dead that they actually dug their own grave got in it, then got bored and got back up and moved to another country kinda dead, like, had to exhume the body and send it back home kinda dead. they are dead, m'kay. DEAD.
so, now that we know that we can do something about it because not everyone knows they are dead, in fact most people would still find it weird if you did lots of things on planet earth but they could not add you for a climate problem creating business card so they could check you out (i.e stalk the living shit out of you) before deciding if you were instagram cool enough to work together (i.e do you work for my grid ratio or not)
now personally i don't care what you do with this information but know this, for $20 a year for a pro account to no longer have to be concerned about your home page is a pretty sweet ass deal, the best thing you don't have to worry about plugins, upgrades and pesky plugins breaking -- a... maze... ing.
some of the custom pro ($19 a year) features are .. .
- custom domains (obviously, i don't want iamdead.lamehost.gov.liberia)
- forms (nice, capture that email your are sending to AI to talk back for you)
- analytics (so you can pretend people give a shit about you)
- more sites (so you can keep making one page sites for no reason)
- widgets and embeds (stripe, paypal, gumroad, typeform is kinda fire)
- and obviously no branding (because we don't want to look stupid)

Carrd looks beautiful. It’s cool to see that everyone has an opportunity to have a nice web presence without paying a ton or having the skills to build it themselves.
I have the skills and I still reach for these “just works” solutions because why not? It’s so easy that it’s not worth my time to build and design everything myself.

for sure. also, you know sometimes especially when working in this area we barely keep up with the client let alone our own stuff!
