i've been thinking a lot of what's gonna be the distributed platform for your average dev to come, IPFS does'nt seem to me something that is thinking enterprise and is more of a thrown together thing where as CEPH actually looks like it's really thinking not only for now but the future -- block devices look sick and this RADOS (RBB) device is intergrated at KVM level which is really powerful for scalable deployments.

Ceph is a unified, distributed storage system designed for excellent performance, reliability and scalability -- Ceph’s object storage system isn’t limited to native binding or RESTful APIs. You can mount Ceph as a thinly provisioned block device! When you write data to Ceph using a block device, Ceph automatically stripes and replicates the data across the cluster. Ceph’s RADOS Block Device (RBD) also integrates with Kernel Virtual Machines (KVMs), bringing Ceph’s virtually unlimited storage to KVMs running on your Ceph clients

Storing data using block device! Sounds amazing. This will endure more security for sure. It can be the powerful storage solution in future.
