i'm having a steem blockchain apps day today here on @steemhunt but that's ok because all of the stuff today i'm posting is absolutely FIRE and if you are not using these things you need to get in on this TODAY.
i discovered a whole raft of electron apps about six months ago and was determined that it was the way that i would build out some applications but i got lost in what framework and skills i needed to learn to get going -- i knew we had steem.js but which js libraries to use, what js did i need to learn. it was overwhelming.
with this new app from sam not only do we get a super sweet desktop notification system for steemit (click to jump to the notification - sweet) but i also feel empowered to look back into the way that sam does things because it gives me a reference point of what software i should be looking at.
on top of that he also released a boiler plate so that's a HUGE amount of work already done, i'm not a developer and have no desire to become one, i like frontend UI/UX/MOCKUPS more than the backend stuff but i'm starting to see an easier way to realise things.
having developers out there like sam make me more confident to realise some of the dreams and ideas of blockchain apps i've had for months now.
also from a @dlive streaming perspective i'm wondering if maybe forking that code as well for notifications while streaming would be valuable as well, hmmm lots of crossovers and things to build! :)
if you using a mobile phone you can still get notifications for mobile today by the awesome @blockbrothers (@exyle and his posse) -- if you have IOS you should certainly be using that! :) check out my other post about blockbrothers because those guys are releasing some awesome stuff too -- honestly some days the steem blockchain is like watching ghostbusters!
