yep, they finally went and did it!

and we all thought they never would but here it is, big player in the market winnebago is getting into the EV market, range was around 100+ miles and for one i'm kinda pumped at this configuration, i'm not sure if this is something that would work too well here in the uk and europe but i'd LOVE something like this stateside to travel 50 miles everyday, charge up and park overnight or boondock somewhere.

just think about it, you really could do steemit roadshows from the road with this beastie! :) - you've got a stack of space to work with (blank canvas) and you know damn well that roof would be covered with solar panel as soon as possible! :)

NEW! All-Electric Zero-Emission Option!

Available on 33' and 38' Class A commercial platforms, this 100% Battery Electric Vehicle qualifies for many federal, state and local incentives for vehicle purchase and infrastructure upgrades, including charging stations.

Depending on interior energy demands, this ground- breaking Class A coach delivers 85 to 125 miles on a full charge, making it ideal for short-range, fixed-base applications.

Pros:

  • Being an RV, the 100 mile limit is not really an issue since you can be very comfortable while it's charging.
  • RVs use so much petrol... this is an incredible implementation.

Cons:

  • 100 miles could be improved for RV travel... Australia and the States are absolutely massive, but an incredible first step.

You would expect they could get some big batteries in there too boost the range. 100 miles is nothing in the US. Still good to see it

100 is enough for me, i'd do 45/50 miles a day, charge, sleep in a walmart and go again and like you said, upgrades along the way, lots of space for it! :)

We're edging closer and closer to these things being a real alternative to IC. The buses that ship passengers around Schiphol airport are solar powered - I get they don't go fast and the terrain is flat but this tech is really starting to be used. I tried to talk to the driver about distances, using braking to create charge and all this lovely stuff but sod's law he didn't speak a word of English.

maybe we have to learn dutch then? you know, to keep up with progress? :)
