i think that e-paper is a totally underrated technology and now that you can get different versions that certainly opens up the experiments right? -- something like this could be useful for like an intergrated updating/notification system that you have hooked up to a deep cycle battery and solar system nicely.
Inky wHAT is a 400x300 pixel, red, black, and white electronic paper (ePaper / eInk / EPD) display for Raspberry Pi, a larger version of our popular Inky pHAT display, with more than 5x the number of pixels.
i'm certainly asking santa to get me this and the raspberry pi 3b+ for christmas, i'd like the 3a+ square one too for MAD 2019 experiments for the van life! :)

I spent a lot of years in the paper device industry and I am surprised that e-paper did not take off. It is a step in the process that i fear will be skipped. We are probably going to move from paper to pure electronic interaction. E-paper always struck me as a nice stepping stone to let people still hold their dear paper without the waste.
Perhaps there is still time to catch on but I am not sure. We are moving so quickly to an electronic run world.
