adafruit have the best toys. ..

. .. and probably have some of the best descriptions i've seen out there about their products. i had to list this one because it's a really smart way to learn about the lever system inside of these 'style' of padlocks, lockpicking is damn fun -- i did it once at this hack style event in the middle of a field in almere in the neatherlands back in the day.

In a province somewhere in Tamriel, you've been stuck in a dank, dirty dungeon cell for who knows how long. You shake your chains at a rat scurrying across the stone floor into the pockets of a fellow cell-mate sleeping off a bottle of contraband ale. The rat scuttles back out with three lockpicks in its tiny rodent maw, and drops them next to you. Your first attempt breaks immediately in the padlock cylinder. Growling, you pick up the second lockpick and try again.

if you have never heard about adafruit before you might want to check out some of the other gear they have, they make some amazing gear to make projects from and highly recommend them, they do a great youtube show as well giving out tips and making things from their hardware.
