so another one from archives. .
. .. i pretty much own nearly every piece of software that roge amoeba make -- and yes, there software is that good -- another no brainer $10 piece of software is the sourcesource tray bar sound control, just straight there for setting up inputs and outputs and the real gamechanger is the ability to play thru to a set of headphones.
what i do with this is that make one of my outputs an input and then listen to that input as an output to my headphones -- this enables me then on the mac for obs hear everything making it easy then to do audio interviews giving me the ability to capture audio from any app that i use that as the input.
think of it like routing audio from one input to another, it's a great tool and it just works, which is what you need when you want your software to get out of the way! :)

I don’t need this personally since I don’t work with audio input, but that’s not to say that MacOS’s sound control doesn’t lack. in fact, even Windows Vista did better.
An app which has for me improved sound control on Mac for me was BOOM! (don’t you think about it, heading over the post editor now!)
But that not because of its effects, although they are a nice touch yet I’m not that much an equalizer fan. What I love most about BOOM is the ability to set volume on a per app basis. Something, the last Windows Beta I ran before switching, and never looking back, already had. Yeah, I’m talking about that horrible dud Windows Vista.
