It's a simple deice that look like a flash drive and you connect a camera to it. Suddenly you have a 4K 30FPS webcam. It's ok to use that terrible excuse of laptop camera to talk to friends and family. But my experience is that webcames make people look ugly. So if you are onto something professional or if you are streamer/entertainer it is better to have something much better.

You can check out the website for a demonstration of webcam vs what you get with the help of Elgato Cam Link 4K. The difference is massive. Unfortunately the device does cost $129.95 and may not be a good option for anyone who wants to do casual streaming or webcam based conversations.

Nice product to get your DSLR work as webcam as well. The part being works as a plug and play device, simple to use and with Cam Link 4K you do not need to worry about the maxing out your memory card mid-shoot. Nice hunt mate. Cheers.

I just bought one of these the other day for my DSLR and I can't wait to try it out. Shipping is slow from their website. I should have bought it from Amazon or B&H.

Elgato Cam Link 4K is an amazing way to turn your DSLR camera to webcam with 4K display @ 30 Frame per seconds. Nice idea for people like whose built in camera result is blur and poor. Only concern is the price of gadget. 129.95 $ is pretty high as it's enough to purchase a good quality webcam in our part of the world. Nice hunt

Laptops and phones nowadays have cameras by default. But if you are on the road enjoying the outdoor life and wanted to share your adventure through your digital camera then this is a cool choice.
However with the cost, this look more appropriate for those who do digital or video marketing businesses. Well, hobbyists can certainly have it too if their budget can afford it.
