Sometimes back I had seen a similar product. So looks like, these are now going to be used in all new buildings, because at least, it can compensate the cost of electricity needed for lights / fans that would be fitted in the common areas of large buildings. So that itself would be a major savings.

This is a great idea of harvesting solar power and reducing the solar heat gain (in summer), it is making use of all the glass area, 1KW for 10 square meters is not bad as a start, I wonder if it works when the glass is in the shade, you know, not all glass receives direct sunlight.

Indeed a great idea to use glass as a solar panel. This product is ideal for big buildings such as office complex, shopping malls, entertainment parks .. etc where they mostly frittered with glass. Day time glass can generate energy as long as there are enough sunlight. But we cannot fully depend on solar since it required acquitted sun light.

Great hunt @xabi I love this solar window. I only seen solar window that colored dark blue. I never seen a bright colour one. This makes it more admirable. It will look good on our house. Most importantly it give us free electric power. Save cost and renewable energy.

Great hunt!

I think tech like this will become increasingly important as look for clever ways to generate electricity/power, which are cleaner and rely less on fossil fuels.

There will come a point where fossil fuels become more scarce and prices will rise massively, so putting tech like this into place now is the best move. If we can set-up cities to use technologies like this, there''ll be less strain on the resources we have left.
