As I was scrolling through my feed, and read most of the posts that came up, I came across this post by @modernpastor.

Since we're nearing the end of the year 2017, I thought it would make a fitting post and it made me think about the subject a bit more. Truth is: Since I joined here in June of this year, I have met (on Steemit and in person at Steemfest) so many incredible individuals and it would be very hard for anyone to make a choice.
There are many, MANY who have made an impact and there are the ones who I call friends and will always have a special place in my heart. And, I think the choice I made is one of the heart, to be honest: first I thought this would be hard, but it's not. It's easy. And it is not one person, but two people who win my nomination for this. Not only that, those two people may have started it all, but because of that, there are now many more who joined this amazing project and are just as valuable.

So, for me, the one and only Steemit member who I would like to shine some light on is
@familyprotection.
As I mentioned: the project is an initiative of @markwhittam and @canadian-coconut, who are two incredibly amazing individuals. But together they formed this project that has brought other equally amazing people together in unity.
Family Protection the words say it all: The family is the foundation of all, without it, there is nothing.
This foundation needs to be protected. From my personal experience, I KNOW that having these people for support means more than anything. They are not only valuable, they are in-valuable.
Therefore, to me, they are the most deserving for the title of Steemian of the Year 2017! I know, I cheated a bit, since this is more a group of people rather than just one, but I know you all can forgive me.
And even though I had to make a choice:

For those who have never heard of them, get to know every single one of these people and you will NOT regret it.
This is a promise...

It's simple. Write a Post about your personal steemian of the year and tell the community why this person is your steemian of the year.

That's it. And this person is automatically nominated for writing also a post about his or her steemian of the year. Of course only once even if he or she gets chosen more than once.

This is kind of honoring certain Steemians for there effort they made.
There is nothing to win this time, but a way to show your gratitude.
