On last sunday's episode of @DC420LA: The Week in Weed, we had an amazing cannabis conversation with Pat Harris, Progressive Democrat and one of the challengers to Dianne Feinstein for her U.S. Senate seat that has been held for five terms by corporate Democrat, and last of the California prohibitionists.
In a campaign that started out self-funded by a second mortgage, and continues to grow with 100% non-corporate donations, Pat has been campaigning across California in some unlikely parts of the state for a Democrat.
Pat was able to get on the ballot of the California Democrats convention and being the only non-corporate progressive on that ballot, ended up receiving 5% or 149 votes. The CA Democrats failed to endorse any candidate for the seat, but did make legal cannabis part of the party platform.
Pat lives in Studio City with his wife Carol Welsman, a world-class jazz singer and pianist. Which may or may not be part of the reason Pat is a big supporter of cannabis and we find out how cannabis became one of his top campaign issues as the "champion of cannabis."
