...which is a smart move!
Steemit Inc. announced a new delegation application process last week.
I was pleased to see that announcement, but I admit I didn't read through the application process, as that is mostly of interest to those who are interested in applying for a delegation, and I am not.
Today I read the post from yesterday where Steemit announced the three members of the Committee that will be in charge of selecting the projects that will receive the delegations from Steemit.
You can read their presentation done by Steemit in the post linked above, but their usernames, projects they are involved in or contributed to should be than familiar to you: @aggroed chosen for his marketing skills, @starkerz (Matt from Oracle-D) chosen for his business background, and @eonwarped chosen for his development skills.
I think that is a smart move by Steemit Inc. This increases decentralization, even if Steemit keeps the veto to reject a project, if they think it will hurt Steem or Steemit, Inc. And I think that's ok too, after all it's their stake. But when a proposal from the Committee to Steemit Inc. is turned down, that should be made public, as well as the arguments for rejecting it. Maybe that's included in the delegation application process, otherwise maybe it should.
The same move passes a hot potato from Steemit hands to the hands of the three above mentioned guys, just in case there will be people unhappy with their decisions, and that's almost sure there will, because some applications will be inevitably turned down.
I don't know what you think, so please do share. Personally I believe this will have a positive effect on the ecosystem, with one condition. That businesses will not depend indefinitely and 100% of the delegation from Steemit, Inc. They need a secondary, maybe even tertiary income stream besides the reward pool.
Thank you Steemit Inc. for sharing decision power! Thank you @aggroed, @starkerz and @eonwarped for accepting this added responsibility!
At this point I don't know, Steemit talk a lot without to bring something tangible on the table.

They are behind on many fronts that's for sure, but maybe this is why this is a great move, their stake will finally be put to good use, and they will not be involved in the decision (unless they reject the proposal).
