Questions: Steem Dollar Interest...

in steemit-help •  9 years ago  (edited)

What I know:

  • 10% anually
  • can be claimed >= 30 days by moving

What I don't know:

  • does moving prior to 30 days destroy the full stake?
  • where do I see how much is staking interest?
  • how is it calculated?
  • are there plans to display interest rate, and make it claimable in the GUI?

Those who are lazy for blogging and commenting other posts, the best option is holding their steem dollar as an investment as it gives an annual interest of 10%.

that's wrong. Steempower give 9.5% APR, SBD interest rate is 0

This post is very confusing. Everyone is saying SBD gives 10% a year while steempower is a high percentage but unspecified as it is somewhat volatile as it is correlated loosely with steem. Did something change. Are all of the bloggers claiming holding SBD is a 10% return wrong?

does moving prior to 30 days destroy the full stake?

No. Every time your SBD balance changes, the amount of SBD-seconds accumulated since the last update is added to a counter.

where do I see how much is staking interest?

In the cli_wallet, type
get_account ash
The field sbd_seconds contains your accumulated total SBD-seconds at the time when your balance last changed. That time is in the field sbd_seconds_last_update.

how is it calculated?

https://github.com/steemit/steem/blob/v0.8.5b/libraries/chain/database.cpp#L3097
Basically, you take the SBD-seconds divided by one year and multiplied with the interest rate.

thanks :)

You get credit for every second. I will have to write a longer blog to answer this.

Short answer is it works like a bank.

would be very much appreciated.

so I should send SD to myself every day to (what was the name?) stack interest? and there's no 30 day block?

I think what he meant is that you don't need to do anything and your SD balance just grows

If I remember correctly it wont grow unless you move after 30days.

mh, a daily total in history would be great in this case?

It seems that you would need to do this if you want the interest to compound. Every day is a bit excessive.

If you do not ever transfer, in a year you get 10%. If you transfer every month, you get 10.47%. If you transfer every day, you get 10.515%. If you transfer every second, 10.517%.

I know it's a rather stupid question but...do you get interest if you move them to the market and place an order?

you don't. however, interest is accumulated every second you hold steem dollar.

Does interest paid every month or so automatically?
I have record in my history
2 weeks ago Receive interest of 0.000 SBD
Or it just because 2 week ago I got first transfer of SBD on account?
