A few tips that might help you succeed on Steemit.

in steemit-help •  7 years ago  (edited)

Finding what works for you on Steemit is different for everyone, we all start at a minnow we all have to work hard to grow our blogs, NO its not easy to grow your reputation it takes a lot of reading, voting and commenting to get to know the community, to get people to come and check out your blog then to follow you. Connecting with the community is your biggest goal as without them behind you you wont get the votes so be nice, interact, get to know members, read there posts and vote then your well on your way to growing a great blog that people are interested in.

Being here for over 11 months you start to see what works and what doesn't. I am going to give some of what I have learned and hope it works for you.

  1. Commitment, It takes commitment to interact with the community, read, vote and comment, plus reply to comments when you can, if you read a good comment up vote it. If your not sure about something speak up, don't go way not sure its best to ask questions and learn.

  2. Writing a post, please don't copy from other sites unless its your own work, please don't take other peoples work that just isn't fair when some one has worked on there post the it gets plagiarised. Write what you know about, make it interesting, learn how to add pictures and format your work. A good looking post will be read whilst a post that hasn't had the care and attention will get by passed.

  3. Use your vote wisely, if you have steem power, spread your vote around giving everyone something extra instead of sticking to your friends, you might get to know someone that will end up a good friend. Adjust your voting power in accordance with the post your reading.

  4. Communication, reading, voting and commenting is what makes steemit great, its what keeps bringing us back, yes the extra pennies are great but having interaction with people from all over the world, people who care and want you to do succeed. Any help you need just ask, there is always someone who will be willing to help you.
I had a problem today with converting my SBD to Steem, I read a great post about how to do it but I still messed up, The person who wrote that post @scrooger kept messaging me until I got it right, that's what members are like
Steemit community is the best community you could get involved with, 11 months and not one misunderstanding or row.
Read posts, make comments and then reply to messages, make friends and followers.

  5. Be nice, be understanding, remember here are members from all over the world, there are different time zones so sometimes don't expect a reply straight away as they could be at work or sleeping, be patient, be respectful.

Hope these 5 points help, its what I have found works on here. Its basically respect your fellow steemer, be mindful of what your writing and interact.

Thanks for these tips. I think in the real world it is no different. Just interact with each other and be nice!

It is bit sometimes some people forget :)

Yes, interact and get involve

This information useful, right you said "not easy we stand in this steemit, there must be hard work, in order to get to the bigger fish".

I always work on it, until I can learn a little about how this steemit works. One of the most successful businesses is to create a community or join a community and help one another, which is better than standing alone without anyone helping.

Here we must be generous, invite people to the conversation and there we will get the meaning of friendship and appreciate each other.

Thank you for you my friend @karenb54 this will really help steemit community especially for beginners who do not understand how to work in this steemit.

You are right, its not easy, especially if we are starting from scratch, no investment of real money. We have to strive if we wanted to succeed.

Thank you for the visit and good to here you found it helpful :)

Yes, this post is very helpful to me and the steemit community who understand it.

Thank you :)

Thank you @karenb54 for this great advice! Helps may people a lot! Upped and Resteemed!

Thank you very much :)

We learn something new everyday, this is embarrassing but I had no clue we could adjust our voting power!
Thank you for teaching me something new!

You will get a slider once you get to a certain reputation, then you can start adjusting it :)

Oh ok, I yet to reach that milestone. Crossing my fingers soon!
Thank you once again for teaching me something :)

Your more than welcome :)

You can do it when you 300 SP.

Thank you, I have a bit to go :)

Happy Tuesday!

You can reach it in no time

Thank you for your encouragement ⭐️☺️

Thanks for the tips, really need to follow them and have patience until you notice and appreciate...

Involvement is the key.

You are welcome :)

Thanks for sharing you insights.

You are welcome :)

I think everyone must read this, new, AND some old steemians too:)

Thank you :)

Right, to freshen things. :)

Great tips @karenb54, I'm a newbie and need all the help I can get. I'm really enjoying the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone on Steemit, so refreshing and sane! Following :-)

i think i just got the reply to the questions i asked today in my post, i woke up this morning feeling really discouraged at the fact that my post never brings me something that i expect and that was what triggered my writing,i felt i needed a mentor or someone who is experienced and could just guide me through steemit. I haven't still gotten a positive reply on the post though, but i am glad that i saw this amazing post.... i'll just need to work more on my weaknesses and make them my strength. Thanks for sharing

Your more than welcome, if you need help I ill try if not I will find someone who will. :)

i must admit that i really do need help

Interact and see how much you grow

I've been there for so long but I continue posting and enjoy the platform. Even though my rewards are not like those who are always in trending, still im grateful because I have something. Sometimes we just need to be satisfied of what we have and more will come.

really true...thanks a lot for dropping your comment, it means a lot to me

Youre welcome

Thanks for the article ! good advice.

You are right. We could not just signup, submit a post, leave for a few hours and back to check your rewards. Upon checking, you got almost nothing, then rant because your content were not given value.

It is important to get involve in the community. Establish a connection and build a profile. Unless they are with a whale, they will surely fail.

Exactly, you have to make an effort or you will get no where on here :)

How do you adjust the percentage of your vote? Is that something that you get after you've reached a certain amount of SteemPower or reputation?

Once you reach a certain level you will get a slider where you can adjust the power :)

Yes, when you reach 300 SP

Karenb. All great ideas but there is still something missing. I see shitty posts getting huge rewards and some great posts with all your criteria not even getting a dollar. The system is difficult to comprehend and does not promote merit. I am just happy to have a chance to write.

Its always been the same, whales stick with there friends and if someone has a large following they get a lot of votes, I know its annoying but its been going on since I joined.

@karenb54 Thank you for the mention =) nice seeing my name somewhere every once in a while. These are some really great tips! Thank you. I am working hard on all my posts. And will always try to help. It's hard to get noticed though. Being new and mixed within the minnow pool can be rough at times. I will keep at it though. Not get discouraged and try my best. Like you said, it takes commitment. Thanks again for the mention and have a great day!

You deserved the mention, you helped me out so the least I could do was mention you :)

Much appreciated still. Glad I could be of help! Try my best and it what this community is all about. Have a lovely day!

You too and thanks again :)

Great post and information. It isn't easy to build a following and relationships here but doing so will help success in the long run. I love how helpful people are here and I've found help in so many places just by asking. There are so many nice people here and kindness pays off.

Its so true, there are so many kind people on here, all ready to help you succeed :)

Very good tips. I'm trying to be a little more communicative, although not knowing English completely makes me complicated, however I read it. Greetings.
