Why sometimes steem reward go down?

in steemit-howto •  8 years ago

I noticed couple of times that reward shown next to post has some values and some time later it's was lower (no downvotes on post, and I don't 100% sure, but don't think someone remove his vote in all cases) - why it's happens?

Do vote from "low SP" voter can lower total value?

It's some visual glitch/caching issue?

Some other explanation?

It's because as others vote the value of their vote decreases, and its reflected in your payout. It goes down on the weekends because general activity is higher .

@jbenticer I didn't know that, so if you own a certain percentage steem power it can also go back down over time? Or is it only your current payouts that you didn't cash out or convert that can become less?

it is because the price of steem flucuates
per us dollar
so the post rewards reflect that
http://capfeed.com shows you

it's wrong I checked it and I didn't see any relation between them , its always go down even when the price in markets goes higher

Looks like @sndphoenix response a bit lower makes more sense

The amount of reward you get per vote is based on the vesting Steem of the person voting, and the more they vote on different things within the same 24 hour period, the more the value of each vote gets diluted. So after voting on your post, if someone moves along and votes for a few other posts, the value of the vote they originally put on your post drops.

Thanks - it explain's this perfectly =)

Thanks dude! Still don’t quite get it but thanks for getting me closer to getting it.

utterly ridiculous this platform will not last others will come along and blow it out of the water...but its all we got for now

I agree! I just joined today, posted for the first time and now I see this... it’s the same as if I bought bread in one store with some magic money and then milk in another store, and the money in the baker’s cash register would disappear just because I bought milk somewhere else. What idiot came up with this system? Sorry, don’t mean to be a grumpy cat right from the start but it’s so misleading and like you said, ridiculous. Reconsidering investing into this platform!

I like your analogy. I feel the same way. I upvote your comment.

Wow, very interesting stuff. Thanks for the information. I was wondering why this was happening.

Great explanation. Does it still work this way after the hardfork? Great info!

Thanks for the explanation, I was surprised when I started voting and saw post I liked decreasing after my upvote

Thanks so much! That was very helpful ;-)

Yeah I've noticed my estimated value keep slowly dropping but don't understand why either

Estimates based on current exchange value between SD and steem so if value of steem go down - estimate go down too.

Thanks so much for this post! I was wondering why ;-)

i have noticed my estimated value goes down but SBD and SP goes high. can't understand this phenomena .. any help?
