Hello foodies and chefs of the world of Steemit!
After a great first week of Steemit Iron Chef 2017, I am back for launching the 2nd week with the mystery product!!!
If anyone new wishing to join and is not aware of what this contest is all about, I invite you to check the first week launching post here to get all the informations on this unique cooking contest!
I will also advise everyone to please follow @steemit-ironchef account to be updated of the big reward pool which will be distributed among the top 20 at the end of year 2017! Your contribution is most welcomed to grow the pot bigger there!
STEEMIT IRON CHEF WEEK #02
So without losing too much time let's get into the theme of this week and the general rules!!!
The product for you to work on for the second week is...
CARROTS!!!
All you have to do is simply sublimate/elevate/transform this wonderful product, which is ever-present in practically all the kitchens around the world!
Before anyone asks, let me clarify that you can use any variety of carrots you wish! Chantenay, Danvers , Imperator , Nantes and any colors you wish...and the list goes on!
As in any contest, we need to set some rules to get things going in the right direction!
- Create a post and title your entry 'Steemit Iron Chef 2017 #02 : Name of your dish'
- Make either a starter or main course or dessert with the product of the week.
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- Make sure to use #steemit-ironchef as your first tag, so that I don't miss your entry!
- Only new recipes will be accepted, so I need at least one photo with your name and date on it.
- I don't need to see your step by step preparations/recipes, just make the list of the products used, describe your dish and add some photos to get my attention! Make it sweet and simple!!!
- Post a link of your entry here on this post and also share your entry on our discord channel - https://discord.gg/R3R26k8
- The DEADLINE for submission is NO LATER than Thursday at 10:00am UTC.
- Any participant not following these simple rules will be considered a non validate entry.
- Be the most creative , inventive and refined possible, you'll win a lot of points...

Looking forward to experimenting and building a possible menu based on carrots ... it is rare here that there is a variety of carrots available in the shops usually only the orange ones ....

Good one, my friend, @progressivechef! I missed out on the contest of the first week using tomatoes. I hope to be able to participate in this second week's contest. @maryfavour has been very busy with the @redfishpillar project. That is quite challenging for me! Hopefully, soon I'll get many who will help out there , so that I can have more time do the things I love doing, one of which is cooking. Hopefully, I will win first, second or third place. One question on my mind. Can a contestant use an old post or it must be a new one? Secondly , can the post be in vlog form or it must be a blog ? Thanks.

I am very sorry for being late @progressivechef, however, I am posting my entry anyway. I understand it will not be included, but I want you to know I tried, but my job got in the way. I am also wondering if you could maybe add an extra 24 hours in the future, because the deadline it's very tight with the Culinary Challenge. Hey my friend, don't worry i'll include your entry for sure! I do understand there can be times where some of the contestants will get blocked. I have put the deadline to be Thursday at 10am UTC so that I can get some time judging properly all the entries, but I still accept those who are late as I release the results only on Saturdays! Before releasing the results, I always have a last check if someone has posted an entry, so no need to worry too much about that!
You did a wonderful job on the SCC my friend, it was the perfect monochrome dish for me! Very well done!
