Introducing the latest community for promoting steemit: Kogi State Steem

It is no news that steemit is the next big thing. And for this reason, we don't want anyone to be left out. Just a single person cannot reach out to the whole world about this great platform. But if each one of us starts with the closest people to us, in no time, we will be able to spread the good news abroad.

WHO ARE WE?

This is the official account of @kogistate-steem and our mission is to bring more people to steemit. We'll be focusing on the people of Kogi state of Nigeria. There are thousands of potential steemians in the state who are yet to know about this platform.

We will also train upcoming writers and to write great content and also help improve their writings. Steemit is sustained by the people in it and our job is to bring in the people who will add value to our system.

Statistics has proven that meetups have improved and increased the #nigeria population on Steemit. Nigeria has a population of About 185 Million people, that is a huge potential market for steemit. (_{@jingis07, source})

All thanks to the effort of great steemians from Nigeria who have contributed immensely to this growth. Contributions in form of seminars, meetups, campus invasion, community services, just to mention a few.

WHY KOGI STATE STEEMIT?

Several places I've been reached in this country, Nigeria. We've had several meet ups like steem-uyo, steem-Ogun, steem-portharcourt, steem-Ibadan, etc... @ejemai also created @stach - a decentralized offline hub for steemians. Steemit is indeed a gospel that so many people are preaching on the street of Nigeria already.

But we notice that there is little awareness of steemit among the people of Kogi. This is the reason why we have decided to come together and reach the people to tell them about steemit. This account was created to monitor our progress and also record our success as we progress.

A LITTLE ABOUT KOGI STATE

Kogi, a state in the central region of Nigeria. It is popularly called the Confluence State because the confluence of River Niger and River Benue is at its capital, Lokoja, which is the first administrative capital of modern-day Nigeria.

Kogi state is the only state in Nigeria which shares a boundary with ten other states. That means that if you are going to any part of the country, you are likely going to pass through Kogi state. Kogi is blessed with several mineral resources and, also, they are into agriculture.

HOW WE INTEND TO PROMOTE STEEMIT

We've followed keenly those who have recorded success in promoting steemit and we intend to follow their steps. People like @nairadaddy or @air-clinic, @eurogee of @euronation, @tojukaka, @ewuoso, @fisteganos, @ehiboss, @samstickkz, @ejemai of @stach and several other great names...

• Campus invasion
  There are 13 tertiary institutions in Kogi state. Yes. 13 tertiary institutions.

Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State University Anyigba, Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Federal College of Education Okene, College of Education Ankpa, College of Agriculture Kabba, Kogi state college of education, technical Kabba and Private Salem University. Also, college of nursing and midwifery in Obangede, School of health tech in Idah and ECWA School of Nursing in Egbe.

We have a lot of potential steemians to harvest from these institutions. Steemit can change their lives and we are to let them know that.

• Meetups
  Meetups is a means to know existing members of the community and build stronger relationship. It is also an avenue to bring in new members to the platform. We have plans to organise Meetups in strategic locations where more people will be able to come together.
• Community services
  We will also do some community services to raise the awareness of steem platform. We'll visit primary schools, orphanages, and other necessary places to make sure everyone hears about steemit.
• Contests
  We will also be organizing several contests with the aim of promoting steemit in Kogi state. Our contests will be focused on how to bring in more people to steemit. Details about this will come out in our subsequent posts. Watch out!
• Seminars
  This is the last but not the least. We will be having seminars both offline and online to sensitize people about the importance of blockchain and cryptocurrency. We have already started our online seminar in our WhatsApp group. Where we teach about steemit. You can click here to join the group.
