Steemit Suggestions - Part 1

in steemit-suggestions •  8 years ago  (edited)

I have been using Steemit for a month or so now. While I am smitten to the platform considering its growth prospects and kind of people I have connected with on this platform, there are a lot of things that I had expected from a platform that is aiming at displacing medium.com, quora.com, upwork.com and facebook.com in that order.

I am listing down the list of items that I would love to have on steemit.com

  1. A nice wysiwig editor that would make it easier for the new comers. While the markdown is good for those with tech background I think most of the writers and artists would prefer a Wysiwyg editor.
  2. Ability to store drafts. Being able to save only one draft was a big let down for me. When I got started I had so many ideas on which I could write and I had to go back to my good old friend Google Spreadsheets to keep my posts ideas.
  3. On Steemit I always have the dilemma of whether to read or write. There are so many good articles that I get lost in the wood reading one after the other. It would be great if we can bookmark the posts and read them in our leisure.
  4. Ability to upload the images easily even when editing the posts. The interface is good while writing a post. I think the same should be maintained even in the edits.
  5. Autocompletion of category names while adding categories.
  6. When users are tagged in a post like @gokulnk the mouse over should show the details about them.
  7. Whenever a tag is used in a post like #steemit-suggestions on mouser over the user should have the option to check the new, hot, trending or promoted in that category.

I will be adding more of my suggestions under this category. What are your suggestions? Either comment in this post or create a new post with the tag.
