WHAT TO DO ON STEEMIT AS A NEWBIE ( few tips for the new steemit users)

in steemit •  7 years ago

So you have just made a steemit account few days ago or maybe few weeks, and you still have no idea what to do here, if you are not a blogger or a youtuber or someone with many followers on social media you must feel this

so here in this post i'm giving you my tips on what to do on steemit as a newbie, if you came here to earn some cash, invest in steem, or even quit Facebook these tips are going to help you do that

Get engaged

here in steemit you will find list of tags, in that list you must find something you are interested in, whether it's photography, travel, food,  cryptocrurrencies or politics try to get engaged in the tag that  you like

don't open your feeds in all tags or you will see many posts that you don't care about and also you will miss the one that you're waiting for.

Trending or new

once i opened steemit for the fist time i was confused whether to stay in trending and see all these posts that making stacks of cash or stay in new and see what the people i'm following are posting

and here is what i found to be helpful

i think if its your very first days you here, this means you don't have many followers and also you're not following many people here , so you should start with trending look for the topics you like, engage in the comments with others

if your comment is thoughtful i think people will very much like to visit your profile and follow you

also on the trending tab follow all those who have much steem power SP so you can see their next posts before others and if you are lucky enough to comment on it before anyone you have won

so you follow the powerful guys on trending but wait for their posts on new

comment or post

one thing that confused me for some time is which one makes more cash commenting or posting

and here is my thoughts on that, as i said before you should comment first on rending posts but those who will see your good comment maybe will also visit your profile and pleas don't leave it empty, at least leave an introduction post, a good one

resteem things you like so people will know who you are through this

and if you already have posted some good posts it would be nice

the problem with these early made posts is it's not likely to get any apvots, but you see it's going to pay you off later

so post and comment, simply be a hero

The importance of new feeds

when you follow someone and you comment on few of his posts you build a kind of connection between you and him and your comments will be more likely to be replied and upvoted

Help the new users

those new users feel lost and they will so much appreciate your comments even if they don't have enough power now to upvote you with, who knows maybe one of them gets viral and remembers you later, beside it's nice of you to help others who need help

those new users will read you comment for sure since they don't have many comments on their posts

Don't comment if you don't have something valuable to add

this one of course is about the " nice work " and " good job " comments

it's ok to support others but pleas don't expect such comments to get any upvotes

if English is not your first language this one is for you

English is the dominant language here, so if it's not your first language ( like me ) you are lucky

just start building  good content in your own language, and imagine when steemit is known in your country your content will have many followers who only speak that language, isn't that good ?

these are just few tips to help you get started, i'll be making another remastered one soon, so stay tuned

Sort Order:

It's a very good idea for newbies to help new users and make friends by regularly interacting with the same group regularly that way you guys can support each other constantly and when you guys grow into dolphins or bigger fish you will always have your loyal friend's support... i have atleast 4-5 loyal friends i hope to grow and get more loyal curators.
The only issue/downside with that is with time it can become hard to keep up with a growing following. So people have to eventually understand that supporting a person does not mean they will automatically reciproate. They might be trying to regrow their steem power or may they can't keep up/ forgot ...

yes, i think loyalty here only means reading your posts regularly and getting engaged with them
not just upvoting whatever you post without reading
and also new users must feel welcomed here because it's very easy for them to feel frustrated

That's right.

A good solid 'to do list' for the new Steemit user (like me).

Thank you for it.

thnx for the good words, and wait for the next one, i'll be explaining more
and welcome aboard
