Suggestion Box For Steemit.com

in steemit •  8 years ago

Introduction

Because Steemit is in beta version, Stemians need to contribute to the evolution of the platform. In this way, Steemit will be build according to the community needs. That’s why for founders or freelance developers, this suggestion box could gives fresh and useful new ideas for the futur devlopment of Steemit.

Browsing

  1. I’ve been browsing really interesting articles, but many times it was impossible for me to find those articles again. An history of the posts read in the user account might be useful, or a way to save some posts for future reading.
  2. With the last announcement on the Steemit’s hack, users had doubts on whereas the announcement was fake or not. Because those announcements are written with different accounts, I think that they must be categorized separately from the « normal » users posts with eventually no curator reward on it.

Posting

  1. When you « submit a story », the layout and writing options do not give possibility for authors to publish articles exactly the way they want. I’ve seen on the web, very simple and efficient writing box tools that every author would love.
  2. Tagging articles had also been not very efficient, and a better tagging system may be useful to gather statistics in order to optimize the number of categories. @thovre with this article got a point : « Steemit suggestion, "tag" other's posts to keep Steemit cleaned up! ».
  3. The spam problem is recurring in every community platform, @samupaha had suggested some ideas in this article : « We need better tools to control spam »

  1. Well, with the recent attack on user’s account, a better security on the log in page might be useful. There are already lots of articles asking for a 2FA (Two Factor Authentification), but @pharesim had already answered this :

There's no way to implement password reset or convenient 2FA. The password/corresponding key(s) is known to nobody else but you, and it gives complete access to the account on blockchain level.
For BTS there is a service for securing an account utilizing another one and a third party which is comparable to 2FA, maybe that'll be ported to Steem in a convenient to use way.

Conclusion

This is a non-exhaustive list of some suggestions and i invite you to write down yours by replying to this article. I will update this post according to your comments and the number of votes on it. In this way we will have a public list of supported ideas that founders and developers can use.

I love steemit and these are great points. I would love to see direct photo uploads in the editor. I think it would take steemit to the next level, I do understand if course that there is a lot of work in that so I have patience!

I noticed when tagging that only the first tag seems to work, is that one of the issues you mean?

Still lets not any of these detract from the fact that steemit is steemin awesome. (I think I am going to replace cuss words with steem based alternatives!!). :0)

Hey please do not downvote >>it will help if you remove you vote please>>it can interrupt my challenge buddy
