Guava monkey or cashew (Anacardium occidentale) is a kind of Anacardiaceae plant originating from Brazil and has "fruit" that can be eaten. The more famous of cashew cashews are cashew nuts, cashew nuts or cashew nuts; seeds are usually dried and fried to be used as a variety of snacks. Botanically, this plant is not at all a member of the jambu (Myrtaceae) or nuts (Fabaceae), but rather closer kinship with mango (Anacardiaceae tribe).

In English it is called cashew (tree), which is derived from the Portuguese word to name the fruit, caju, which is also a loan of the name in Tupi, acajú. While the name of his surname (Anacardium) refers to the form of a false fruit that is like a heart reversed.
