In my view its two-fold, the more advanced tactics you need to "bring someone down" the more pay-to-play it will become and intrinsic with sock-puppet accounts and brigading.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
