Yeah, I'm a little confused on why they decided to do that. Good thing is we're still in Beta technically so maybe it will be changed. Either way, seems to be a good way to promote for those posts you want to show off to the world of Steemit. Thanks for the comments!

There's potential in SteemIt.
As a user, why would you bring traffic and content for nothing in return to websites such as YT when steem platforms allow curators and the content creator to reward quality input?
That's to say that we're definitely at the beginning with SteemIT and will probably still see changes to the platform.
