2. VIDEO TUTORIAL : How to write a post on Steemit

in steemit •  7 years ago

Welcome to my MINI VIDEO SERIES exclusively for Steemit.

This video is about how to write nice posts on Steemit and How to create a simple post.

I will show you examples of good and bad posts, content which doesnt deserve up voting and content that does. This applies more to people who are beginners and its a great video to show to your friends/ partners / family who will be joining steemit.

I would appreciate any feedback on this tutorial. I appreciate its very basic, but I have put a lot of effort into creating this.  This is a second episode, more episodes will come :)

Lots of Love,

Alla xoxo

Thanks for this video! I joined Steemit about 10 days ago and still working my way around the platform.
I have been following you since my beginning here and like your commitment and the effort you are putting into your posts.
Am not a techie person but am actually working at posting more complete posts :)
Inviting you to follow me to hopefully enjoy them.
Thanks for your tips ;)

yeah for sure loads to figure out :)) thank you!! i will post more stuff for you guys :)) xx

Great second video Alla - I'm really digging the trendy hipster glasses but I appreciate even more your sage insights on creating good posts. Definitely making the text readable with headings and photos is always important and as you mentioned, it is even more important to have original content. I have certainly seen entire articles completely plagiarized from the Web - fortunately our fellow Steemians are smart enough to catch this and refrain from upvoting these trashy articles.

I think these tips will become even more useful the more users join Steemit in the coming days, weeks and months so it's nice to know that you'll be creating new and helpful videos to educate the Steemit community . I appreciate the dedication Professor - keep it up!

haha thanks a lot!! i will be wearing them in every video!! yeah for sure, i will cover this in more detail, just 1 step at a time!!! :)) yeah for sure for everyone who joins, i wish i had this! so i will make it happen!

I'm glad to have joined Steemit at the very same time you are creating this marvelous video series. I honestly learn a lot from just reading and studying posts of some of the most successful Steemians including you Alla! Keep trailblazing and I'll do my best to create great content the whole community can learn from and enjoy. Cheers!

I'm glad I watched your video. I'm totally new to Steemit so this is helpful. It gives me good direction and guidance. Thank you!!!

I'm also a food blogger so I appreciate your hard work. I know it takes a lot of time and attention. Wonderful job. Just saw your Latvian cheese recipe. Will try it! Thanks again!

aww im soo glad to hear that :)) glad you liked it and it was helpful!!

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I just tried to use the "easy" version but when I want to upload a photo it changes into the HTML... But I guess as soon as you created yourself a nice template, it gets easier :)

OMG.... I hope I am not in bad post ... And I like this B&W photography on wall :)

hehehe thanks :P you have your own style, but i guess you could add more history to each post :D

I'm sorry I'm asking if you could write an example, then I understand better. If it is ok I ask :)
But I am happy that you make time and say what you think . It's difficult to ask for help online Nowadays, because the correct information has been copied and modified so many times that it is difficult to choose. But I think you give good info . And I like your post. And But what is the picture on the wall ? I like this. It seems interesting to be.

its london :)) yeah you are welcome!

:))

hahahah :P

What?

so basically what we are saying here is a presentation of your content is key! :) it's the reasons why people used to like the layouts of magazines, formatting is everything and shows you give a sh*t about what your posting, right? :)

yes yes yes :))) i know!!

always love a triple yes! :)

Great! You are doing a great job for newbies.
I'm grabing upvotes for my comments to have more and more voting power which I can give to my followers and to people which posts I enjoy.

thank you!! I'm trying!! :))

welcome :))) yes :)

Thank you for sharing great video very informative learned something new yet again :)

thank you! glad it was helpful!! i will do more :)

Two questions.

  • where did you get the tool bar on the top of the blog post window? letter size, bold, cross out etc.

    1. Where did you find the green screen steemit image for your video?

I tried to make my own...but it looked elementary ☝🏼😅

if you watch the video you can click the html and it changes to editing tools!! which green screen ?

Thanks for your efforts

welcome :)))

Very good information. I just did a blog and I did just have a whole of lump of text. I better break it up now. Also I was wondering how people were getting their text in large and small letters. I forgot to click on the editor link. I learn something everyday. Thanks Alla.

glad it helped :)) hahah yeah its better to break it down so people can read it easier !

Good, sensible advice, thanks Alla!

thank you! glad it was helpful!! i will do more :)

Good job. Thanks for taking the time to help steemit community.

welcome :)))

That's a great video, looking forward to seeing more

thank you! glad it was helpful!! i will do more :)

Great stuff. Upvoted and following. Looking forward to more good stuff.

welcome :)))

great post!

welcome :)))

welcome :)))

Helpful information! thank you.

welcome :)))

Alla, when I opened my blog today, your profile picture was on my profile next to my name. I am not sure what is going on.

lol what do you mean? haha

It seems that every time I go to my blog, I don't have a profile picture of myself and twice, your photo has come up next to my name. It's weird. A little glitch I think.

Great work !! x

thank you! glad it was helpful!! i will do more :) xx

Great basic rundown.

Thank you for review! I think now it going to be easier for me to begin, write down my first post on steemit. How do you think is it necessarily to start with "Introducing myself" post?

i will do a video on that too!!

Simple does it! You went beyond the technicalities and gave great advise for not just beginners but everyone at large.

I really look forward to when people will just link your videos and as a go-to helping point when explaining Steemit to new joiners.

As a Steemit OG yourself, I'm expecting your video series to go beyond newbie advise and slowly rising in complexity.. Such a way that it can be a crash course for beginners to skip what would otherwise be months of trial and error.

Keep at it Alla! i fully support your initiative and will continue to offer any help if you so happen to need any!

Alla, I love your initiative :) One thing, I realized that my 'Submit a Story' template does not come with a useful text/content editing bar :( Mine is just plain, and I have to add basic html codes into my text in order to get the italics, bold, and strikethrough effects.. Is there something you downloaded to get that bar?

no did you watch the video? you have to just click on it and it will become editing tool :) lol

Yes, I watched it twice and saw the second time :)) hehe thanks to your video..it called my attention to the existence of that editing bar lol..else I would now still be clueless..

hhahha good you asked :)

Thank you. I'm totally knew here and trying to learn all I can before I start posting so that I can avoid mistakes. I found your actually showing how to write a post with the video was very helpful. Appreciate your taking the time to help us minnows out.

Very good tips indeed Alla, this will help many members to improve their posts here and thus improve on quality of steem contents...good one

yeah for sure :) thanks !!

Welcome and keep up the good work

Yes. We need more simplified posts like this. Thank you. Resteeming.

I didn't even realize that formatting option was available in the post window. Now that I clicked "editor" in the top right I don't have to format like the old html way anymore. Thanks!

nice glasses maddam ^_^ @allasyummyfood

thank you! :)))

ur welcome allsya ^_^
