Informative, fun and helpful. I think a lot of people know what needs to be done in order to gain a decent following on here, although don't really want to put the work in, so ask the question hoping there's some secret shortcut.
It is hard work. I don't do nearly as much as I should or could, and I know that's why I don't have much of a following. We see videos and blog posts uploaded by people such as yourself and other popular steemit producers and presume they just knocked it out, off the cuff, like it wasn't anything... but tons of work has gone into each and every one behind the scenes. Steemit definitely isn't a get rich quick kinda thing.
I appreciate the work that goes into all of yours, and other Steemians posts, and thank you all for the excellent content. STEEM ON!

Hey @allasyummyfood, you've got a nice tutorial made for all new members of our Community 😉 I'm here for a month now but still one of the small fish bit anyways whenever you put some effort into your account you'll receive some rewards soon. In my opinion many people who join are just looking to get rich quick and that's something this Community doesn't support.

Nice tutorial. I am coming from the very bottom of Steemit. I have been guilty of the "vote for me and I vote for you" type of tactics. Well, I think we all have to start somewhere and however we can. The good thing is that I am an affiliate marketer and have managed to earn some bitcoin on various sites; Now I'm focusing on increasing my Steem Power. And this is my advice to other people, if at all possible, increase your Steem Power.
I'm currently working on the creation of a videogame, so I better kind of, err, get off Steemit for a while and get working. :)

This is so good. So many times people will say if you follow me I'll follow you. I go to there site hoping they wrote something. They didn't write anything. So I back away. If newbies can realize that things in there everyday life are interesting to somebody. I usually pull memories from sometimes decades back for an interesting story. All people even young people have something interesting to share or maybe even a life lesson to share.

Good video, and I agree wholeheartedly with your comments...there seem to be quite a few new people who obviously think that they can just make a quick buck without much effort.
I've sometimes looked at their profile to see what exactly they are offering....and not surprised to find that they just resteem other steemian content and generally just beg for follows.
It's a shame. I love this platform because it is so removed from other social media sites. I like that there is a higher level of intelligence in members resulting in interesting input.
I just hope the "I follow you, you follow me" brigade either wises up or leaves.

The thing I most like about steemit is it's not filled with negative comments. Everyone seems to care about each other and really encourage each other. This is the first social media site where I don't feel like I'm wasting my time.

I agree with these points. Although, it feels like a slow process in order to get those followers and people that will actually check out your post. That isn't a big deal though because good things typically don't come without hard work. It'll also make it much more worth it when you start seeing success for the people who really had to work for it!

well said ! Steemit need some kind dedication ! You wanna make a living from it ? no problem just spend 4-5 hours per day, putting some effort and you shall be rewarded ! Its like on your day job if you dont be productive you will get fired right ? ^^

Alla knocks it right out of the ballpark once again - engaging everyone on Steemit through interactions on comment sections of articles, especially those of veteran Steemians and even whales is excellent advice and something I personally do every day! ;)
Not only have I made many cool friends this way, but I've also learned a TON about Steemit just by conversing and always communicating with my fellow Stoodies lol.
Of course, I always learn oodles and oodles of useful nuggets of information from @allasyummyfood - she always leaves me very hungry but supercharged with new information and much wisdom! Thanks Alla!

I moved almost $3000 that I had on another Crypto currency to here in order to increase my voting power and help others and to grow so I can get to a place where I can really make a differnce in the community, that amount is not little to me right now as my business has been struggling because of Amazon and 2 franchise supplements store in my area have already gone out of business yet we are just a small shop and we are hanging in there. I believe 100% in this platform and that is why I invested both money and tons of time. I am not letting some lazy ass come on here and ruin it for every one working so hard to grow. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I also find this platform so much easier to use than all others. I was always really good at talking to others in school lol. I actually got most talkative in my high school yearbook, but I am shy to strangers. I am not the kind of person to start a conversation waiting at the cashier line with some one I do not know at all. People at the gym would tell me once they met me that they thought I was stuck up because I never would talk to any one there. It was because I am shy to strangers. But I can talk for ever online telling a story or talking to some one I know in person I am a parrot lol. This is a perfect place where I can put all of my thoughts and experiences in a place to share with others and I feel super comfortable and easy to use. I'll play the contrarian here and suggest people at least check out some of the new people who beg "I'm following you, please follow me"- you never know who you might find, and most of us DID flounder about quite a bit before we could mackerel any progress.

What you explained for steemit and everything in life. This happens on FB all the time. I belong to a few music and graphics groups. You get a random friend request but don't know who, but you give in as they have dozens of mutally friends in the scene and within 15mins they are sending you links to there FB pages like me like my music. It's terrible.
Take the time to get involved in the community get to know people be genuine.
