STEEMIT VS other Social MediassteemCreated with Sketch.

I know we all try to compare Steemit with other social medias counting their cons and pros. But I would like to talk about another Steemit aspect.

Say, you open an account on Facebook. What do you do the first? Try to find your friends/relatives/known persons by first/last names, email addresses, what ever. Every time you hope you would find there your classmate, friend, in other words already known for you person . Further you would find friend of friends, kins of friend and so far.

In regular social medias we come to contact with others using our already developed social capital, relying on already created connections. After finding all necessary people we usually start to concentrate on ourselves, posting about our own life and collect likes. We came with already created connections and then we would find a few more.

Opposite, on Steemit you come as a newborn, without any connections with others. Fine, if you would already have few friends here, but majority came here without them and explored Steemit world themselves. We were as kids exploring, connecting, trying a new and investigating unknow Steemit world.

We came alone here to grow up and repeat our regular life steps/stages to a Steemit life: exploring, learning, studying, developing skills and making a career. We, on Steemit, constantly work from inside to outside: creating something, give it to others and developing new and new connections, growing together.

So, the Steemit gives us more real life lessons than other platforms and I'm really glad for these.

I like your article a lot but I reached the stage in my #steemitlife where I miss more fairness that good and especially new authors get a chance to reach the trending pages. I am not talking about myself. I helped so many good articles and mostly comments with my votes that I can't accept it that most of them are constantly overlooked. It depends on just a few powerful voters to get good enough rewards. I have to admit that I also stopped reading because I stay offline more these days and let steemvoters operate until my VP is drained.
I might be just be burnt out or tired. I prefer to live #reallife for now.

I tough myself read and comment but not upvote because my VP fell to 10% and I'm still recovering. One month after.
I was newbie and minnow didn't pay much attention on VP

That's what I mean! It's wrong! It was not like this before the last hardfork. We all have to hold back voting. Something is wrong

"Hustle" and "Patience" are my real life lessons; I use one other social media platform which is doing fine with zero connections. I agree with the fact that this is a slower moving platform since currency or "Steem Power" is what generates leverage... and the people are very kind here which was shocking. @allfabeta

we try to keep all things positive and help each others.

If you would have any question about Steem - what is the better to do or something else - please feel free to just drop your questions under any my post and I'll answer

Pretty interesting way to look at it. Mainly cause I don't thin everybody sees #STEEMIT as a social media platform as much as they a "blogging" platform. But damn good post! @trendhobo

Yes, the Steemit community is easily the most positive and thoughtful I have ever encountered. I've learned quite a bit from my short time here.

I continue to learn something every day.... and I like it!

Thanks for the thought. I had not seen this, but you are right, I agree with you.
