With all the suspicion and over hype of Trump and Russia. It's odd to read how Russia's relationship to the Obama's administration was never taken as seriously. At the height of the Ukraine crisis, Obama made through Secretary of State John Kerry strong efforts to start a friendlier relationship with the two. Bloomberg reported back in December 2014 how Kerry had started secret meetings with minister Lavrov of Russia. The idea was to try to fix the relationship. At that time the relationship was damaged because of the situation in Ukraine. Obama and Putin had a strong dislike for each other but Kerry who was friends with foreign minister Lavrov tried hard to fix the relationship. What did he do? Will according to Bloomberg he had secret meetings with Lavrov including where other government officials we're not present. This from bloomberg:
"Kerry has been the point man on dealing with Russia because his close relationship with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov represents the last remaining functional diplomatic channel between Washington and Moscow. They meet often, often without any staff members present, and talk on the phone regularly. Obama and Putin, on the other hand, are known to have an intense dislike for each other and very rarely speak."
Kerry's efforts included trying to work together with Russia on international situations of the time. Just like the Trump administration is trying to have a working relationship with Russia now against American foreign enemies. This is from Bloomberg:
"After one meeting with Lavrov in Paris in October, Kerry announced that he had discussed potential U.S.-Russian cooperation on Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Yemen. But the apparent warming was overshadowed by Lavrov’s quick denial of Kerry’s claim that Russia had agreed to assist in the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State in Iraq."
The article does describe how Obama doesn't seem to be interested in any of these moves because of his dislike of Putin. This brings another question to mind. Why does Obama hate Putin so much? Let's not forget that Obama in 2012 tried to make a deal with Russia before that year's election when he spoke to then Russian president Medvedev. This conversation was caught on video but it was minor news at the time. None of the press reacted calling Obama a traitor or anything they would use against Trump today. Then there was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's efforts at friendlier relations with Russia including during her time a Uranium deal. So what went wrong? How did the Obama administration start to hate Russia? In 2013 the administration became infuriated with Putin for his domestic and international decisions. Putin was following the United States foreign policy goals. It seems Putin wanted to act as a independent nation and the United States wanted them to follow their policies.

Both the US and Russia have one big thing in common, they are both oligarchies and at the top it's all about money and finance. The Rothschilds have a strong influence and grip on both.
