Steemit#7 - Recognizing Common Mistakes and Misconceptions On Steemit Part # 1

in steemit •  7 years ago

In my discussion this time, that is some important point about misunderstandings about steemit, steemit that is currently growing like mushrooms increasingly in interest by various circles this raises some speculation about misunderstanding info or rules steemit that still many we do not know.

Okay the basic discussion is SteemIt, as we know that "Steemit is not complicated but it is not easy", in the layout of steemit understanding there are actually some references that I have encountered even for more experienced users to acknowledge that steemit is difficult. difficult because there are some things that become misunderstandings.

From Blog @calamus0056 describes having seen many users make mistakes and / or disseminate misinformation. To help everyone understand the platform better, @calamus0056 lists some of the most common mistakes and misconceptions that when noticed include:

1. Unvoting

image

A post that has been published in steemit and through the new homepage before upvote by other users, but sometimes there is a mistake we start to vote upvote but want to cancel it In the current SteemIt implementation, you will never be able to regain your voting rights. Once you choose, the power of voting is gone. So make sure to think about your voice very carefully!

2. Upvote

image

The common mistake I see makes people feel that their vote is entirely responsible for the change of award. It is important to realize that on steemit.com the rewards are not updated in real-time. So if you choose or refresh the page, these factors can affect the rewards, therefore let it run by itself, do not often merefreh your browser steemit.

3. Steemit.com

image

While it's true that steemit.com is a website, it does not mean SteemIt is a website! I know this is confusing, but I'll explain it. SteemIt runs with the new revolutionary blockchain technology. Steemit.com is what they call front-end, GUI or client. It only communicates with the actual authoritative app, ie the server (in this case the STEEM block). "SteemIt" is the name of the social media platform that runs on STEEM block.

All the incoming sounds / flags that occur between when you fill the first page and when you select / mark or refresh the page.

Price STEEM (on the internal market). Unfortunately, I have no exact details about this process, but it is very clear that the rewards are changing, even without the sounds / flags that affect it.

Voice and flags on all other content (the details will be explained under the prize pool section). look forward to posting the 2nd part.

4. The amount of the prize

image

The Dollar price shown in the content is not the price the author will get. The amount is divided between the author and the curator. Although theoretically possible the writer will get 100%, in fact the author receives about 81% of the average number seen (the more popular the author, the higher part of the award is usually given to the author).

The reward can be paid either 50% on SBD (STEEM Backed Dollars) and 50% on STEEM POWER or 100% on STEEM POWER, depending on the author's choice. In certain cases you will get a reward in STEEM above SBD.

5. Editing your content

image

Because your data is stored in blockchain, it's permanent. In fact, every mutation is permanent. If you edit your content, all previous changes remain in the database forever. Once published, the information can never be removed. SteemIt is completely uncensored! what you have posted first, it's the reference and embedded in Blockchain, even if you delete your post by editing and then "delete" the contents of the content, but the actual post is actually still stored in Blockchain.

6. Voting on old content

image

Did you know that in the current Steemit application, you can not reward older content that is more than 6 days 12 hours. If you use voting on the content within the last 12 hours in the first 7 days, you will get an error message that you can only mark the content (meaning you can not rate upvote on the content) at 6 days 12 hours. After 7 days you can increase the content, but will not give any voice power costs, nor reward the content, so it's basically the same as Facebook as it was at the time, just upvote but no results.

So posting this misunderstanding I post to be friends to know and share information for other steemians friends, Hopefully posting this article into new knowledge for me and also steemians friends to continue to be expressed through steemit as a place of experimentation, especially in terms of writing and also other content .
