The blue light of a mobile phone or computer screen causes sleep disorders, many of which are known, as well as it also damage eye retinal cells. But it was not known how this damage happened. A study on the effect of the mobile phone screen on the eye has been published in the Scientific Reports Journal.
The author of the study, Ajit Karunaratne, said that the harmful effects of blue light on the eye are unknown. This process has been described by the University of Toledo. Besides, they can also try to repair the damage.
The blue light causes macular degeneration in the eyes. Macular disengagement is the loss of the cells or thin in the 'Maculah' part of the eye retina. Maculah helps to see the small details of anything. If macular degeneration is lost in the cell, then people see the blurred vision.
Sadly, there is currently no treatment for Macquarie's disengagement. However, it can be reduced by injection to the eye. Generally, this problem is seen in older people.
Where is the effect of blue light in Macular Disengation? Retina contains a molecule named 'Retinal' which helps in moving information from the eye to the brain. But in the presence of blue light, the retinal side of the light was inverted to the eye. At one point, it started killing retinal cells. The dead cells are no longer compensated. As a result the eye becomes irreparable damage.
Studies also show that in the presence of blue light, the retinal can damage any cell, such as cancer cells, heart cells and nerve cells.
In this situation, the light of hope has been seen. Researchers have found a type of Vitamin E that prevents such cell death. With age, however, the body has lost the ability to use this remedy.
Researchers blamed our technology-addiction for the loss of eyesight. Laptops, smartphones and tablets create lots of blue light. Lack of look at these devices will be harmed because of the long wait. Some companies add filters to the screen to prevent blue light. It's a good idea, researchers say.
