It's like rolling the internet back a few decades, in the best possible way!
It's deep as hell. Way deeper than I anticipated. I'm only just starting to figure it out and appreciate all of it's potential. After a lengthy spell being consumed with facebook and twitter it's great to be here, - it's great that steemit exists!
Well done to all the developers, contributors and other steemians for making this place happen and thanks for having me and making we feel welcome.
Lots to read and learn. Lots to do.
Looks like you gonna figure it out.
As you yourself wrote elsewhere,
make a introduceyourself post. More people read it, resteem it, more people begin to follow you.
Another way - in my (short) experience - to gain readers, is to engage at other peoples posts. Comment (interact) I mean.
Always put a picture in your post. Otherwise increases the likelihood considerably that your post won't get read.
I wish you a good time and followed you back.
Also, I believe, people don't like it too much when posts happen too often and too many resteems are made.
Considering resteems I am actually using steempeak as the interface (other variant is busy + of course the original steemit) since a couple of days and there you can activate at specific users if you want to see their resteems in your feed.

Thanks a lot.
My primary obstacle seems to be just finding the posts that I want to engage with. The 'trending' feed still looks like mostly pointless bollocks to me at the moment... Sure I'll figure it out eventually though.
Cheers.
