Krakau you are so wonderful! - Krakau du bist so wunderbar!

Hello everybody,

Holiday is always something nice in the year where you are happy and the soul rest. My family is originally from Poland and my mother had the idea to have a look at Krakow together.

Krakow is the capital of the administrative district of Lesser Poland and the third largest city of Poland. The historically well-preserved cityscape of Krakow is characterized mainly by buildings and monuments of the Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance periods as well as later eras, which gives it a distinctive atmosphere. Krakow is also a university address as well as a cultural center a top address.

The time with the family is incredibly valuable and precious. Krakow I found to be beautiful and very well maintained. It is always said that in Poland prices are cheaper. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore and has changed a lot. Above all in metropolis such as Krakow, the prices have increased emens. If you are in Poland you have to try pierogi anyway :).

The market square in Krakow is a sightseer place. It is square in shape, with sides of 200 meters each and is framed by palaces and churches. The center of the square is occupied by the Cloth Hall, which was rebuilt in 1555 in the Italian Renaissance style. The square is dominated by the Gothic towers of St. Mary's Church.

Amazing View

Kasimir is the former Jewish quarter.
The Jewish past in this part of the city can be seen above all in the synagogues, the Jewish cemeteries and a museum. Otherwise, it is a very lively neighborhood with many nice cafes, pubs and restaurants. Apart from the city center, Kasimir is probably the place to go. Very worthwhile to walk around there.

My personal highlight was Wawel Castle, where the Polish kings used to live. The Wawel in Krakow is located on a limestone hill, the Wawel Hill, on the southern edge of the old town. For more than 500 years - until 1596 - Polish kings ruled from Wawelburg in Poland. Even after the end of the 16th century, Warsaw became the capital, the coronation and funeral ceremonies took place in the cathedral. The view of Krakow is beautiful from here. You can feel the glory of the former kings from here.

Hallo zusammen,

Urlaub ist immer was schönes im Jahr worauf man sich freut und die Seele ruhen lässt. Meine Familie kommt ursprünglich aus Polen und meine Mutter hatte die Idee, uns mal Krakau gemeinsam anzuschauen.

Krakau ist die Hauptstadt des Verwaltungsbezirks Kleinpolen und drittgrößte Stadt von Polen. Das historisch gut erhaltene Stadtbild von Krakau wird vornehmlich durch Bauwerke und Denkmäler der Barock-, Gotik- und Renaissancezeit als auch späterer Epochen geprägt, was ihr eine unverwechselbare Atmosphäre verleiht. Krakau ist aber auch als Universitätsstadt sowie kulturelles Zentrum eine Top-Adresse.

Die Zeit mit der Familie ist unglaublich wertvoll und kostbar. Krakau empfand ich als wunderschön und sehr gepflegt. Man sagt immer, dass in Polen die Preise günstiger sind. Das ist leider nicht mehr so und hat sich ziemlich verändert. Vor allen in Metropole wie Krakau sind auch hier die Preise emens gestiegen. Wenn du in Polen bist musst eh unbedingt pierogi probieren:).

Der Marktplatz in Krakau ist ein Schaulustiger Platz. Er ist quadratförmig angelegt, mit Seitenausmaßen von jeweils 200 Metern und wird von Palästen und Kirchen umrahmt. Die Mitte des Platzes wird von den Tuchhallen eingenommen, die 1555 im italienischen Renaissance-Stil wiederaufgebaut wurden. Überragt wird der Platz von den gotischen Türmen der Marienkirche.

Kasimir ist das ehemalige Judenviertel.
Die jüdische Vergangenheit in diesem Stadtteil ist vor allem an den Synagogen, den jüdischen Friedhöfen und einem Museum ersichtlich. Ansonsten ist es ein sehr lebendiges Viertel mit vielen schönen Cafes, Kneipen und Restaurants. Abgesehen von der Innenstadt ist in Kasimir wohl am meisten los diesbezüglich. Sehr lohnenswert dort mal rum zu spazieren.

Mein persönliches Highlight war die Burg Wawel, wo damals die polnischen Könige hausten. Der Wawel in Krakau liegt auf einem Kalksteinhügel, dem Wawel-Hügel, am südlichen Rand der Altstadt. Mehr als 500 Jahre lang - bis 1596 - regierten die polnischen Könige von der Wawelburg aus Polen. Auch nachdem Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts Warschau die Hauptstadt wurde, fanden in der Kathedrale die Krönungs- und Bestattungszeremonien statt. Die Aussicht auf Krakau ist wunderschön von hier aus . Man kann den Ruhm der ehemaligem Könige von hier aus richtig fühlen.
