I walk into a 7/11 maybe every other day on my walk to the train station, and every time I do I realize how important places like that are to the working class and the rhythm of the workday. It's a place where people quasi-gather before their day to chat about the days's news, grab a cup of coffee, and come together in solidarity. I probably romanticize a it too much on mundane aspects of everyday life, but it does seem like there's a collective understanding of the people who frequent mini marts prior to their work day that this is the calm before the storm. DO you guys feel the same way? If there aren't any 7/11's near you, what's your go-to pre-work stop?
As always appreciate y'all for reading
