Thanks for the info!

I came across a post about being careful on the site with the scams and phishing going on. So that got me extra careful, but I didn't expect it to be at this extent. Got your reply to my comment at @hangin's post. Thanks @arcange. The user is one of the, I would call already Steemit friends I frequently visit. I was wondering if his account was hacked or something. Also I've been receiving 0.001 STEEM and SBD's this past days from users advertising themselves for upvotes, but I don't bite those specially with the links. Resteemed for others to see. Again, thank you.

Thanks @arcange.

I'm glad to help.

I was wondering if his account was hacked or something.

For sure it was!

Thanks for resteeming the post @happyfree!

https://steemit.com/ask/@isfet.mage/a-german-minnowsupportproject

i might be a steemit nob but not a internet noob
So what to do know?

Very helpful. Thank you

Excuse me @arcange, for repeating this question. Since you are doing good job exposing scammers, I have to ask you — is there something to be done against the strong bullies who are flagging innocent people out of pure fun?

Here is an example:

https://steemit.com/longexposurephotography/@lighteye/punch-ball-eng-srp-lopta-za-udaranje

What can be done against the flagging abuse? I have just put a post with that question in hope to find some solution without waging another senseless flagging war:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@lighteye/steemit-flagging-abuse

To be honest, there is not much to do against such behavior. Flag war is useless and destructive.
My (very personal) way to manage this situation has always been "don't feed the troll".

Never fed him. Never been in contact with him. He simply choose me for his sick fun.

Thank you anyway, @arcange.

Interesting point of view. So, what are your thoughts on @steemcleaners? You see utility in that, right?

Also, do you have any thoughts on community driven flag incentivization projects to combat abuse? These have actually been successful in deterring abuse in a number of instances. I'd call that a win.

It seems hard to keep up with all the scams on the web.

Thanks for the info @arcange!

I just got one today on one of my posts. This is driving me up a tree and down the sidewalk. It seems that nothing is protected from scammers; not the normal web, not the blockchain, nowhere.

I feel sorry for the older generations (I am 49 years old). I had a friend who somehow downloaded malware that then put her into a panic because she had those pop-up ads that tell you that you need to get their virus removing software.

Luckily, she took her laptop in to have the malware removed. I just always pause before I click on any link. If I even think it might be a scam.....I won't go there.

She could have removed it herself with Malwarebytes and saved herself some money ... But anyway. That's neither here nor there. I think that in this day and age, the older generation needs to at least learn enough on the computer to get by. They need to know the basics.

I really got the infomation very late after i. have login with my active key on the site and no free up have i gotten from the so. called upvoter. Thanks for the information and how can i change my active key?

If you are still in control of your account, change you password and all your keys will be updated.
