Creating a Community, not just an Account!

in steemit •  6 years ago

As a team, we feel that @utopian-io and @davinci.witness have given us a great opportunity to contribute to the open source world, by translating various projects. We would like to show our gratitude and willingness to evolve, become better and grow. It would be a shame to not put our creativity, skills and desire to work into good use, don't you think? That's why we made this community account, because we believe in what we're doing in the Translations category and we want to take our work a step further.

In this group, we want to support the translations category by providing useful posts containing tips, statistics and tools that make a translator's and an LM's life much easier. Achieving an increase in engagement within the category would make us a lot happier too. Contribution posts tend to be neglected, as the only comments they receive are the Moderator's review and those coming from various bots around the platform. How can we get that rewarding feeling that our effort matters, unless more people come over to tell us so?

We also want to create a curation trail, which will support translation posts and in the future, if circumstances allow us to, more utopian posts. People dedicate time and energy on this category, we want to reward them for that, even if our strength is not that great.

Recently we announced the birth of a team effort: @aristotle.team! It starts as a small, but organized, effort and we soon aspire to see it grow.

This community was created by the amazing Greek team: @dimitrisp, @ruth-girl, @katerinaramm, @lordneroo and @trumpman. It is taking shape in the hands of @dimitrisp. Our resourceful members are focusing on how to improve productivity on translations, how to make our work easier, keep it more organized and provide public stats in order to be as transparent as possible. We don't want to be your average serious community effort. We like being quirky and we are not afraid to show it!

In @dimitrisp's dev skills we trust and in our high quality lust 😛

Ain't you a peach, Aristotle?

No, I am a human ported into the blockchain. What is wrong with you?

(and in case you are viewing this from your super-modern "Antikythera Mechanism" it's a gif [or a video] of an annoyed person saying "Wait... what?")
