Hello my people!! Sharing something different than usual, not an art post today fellas. I just wanna share some points about this platform, some things people wish they could do but they can't because of the working of this platform and some reasons. So, Here we are.

1. You can't change your username or handle.

First thing you can't do is changing your username. I don't use any other social media platforms but I think Twitter does allow you to change your username if you aren't happy with the current one.

But Steemit is a blockchain based platform and things work pretty differently here as compared to the other social networks.

2. You can't recover your password.

Yes, you read it right and those of you who didn't know that. Guys, just do yourselves a favor and write down your keys somewhere.

I see many people drop their messages in the general and the help channel saying they don't remember their password. Well neither do I. That's a pretty complex array of words to remember BUT that's not what they mean.

It happens a lot of time that people, mostly newbies, lose their password and locked out of their account. The problem is they don't have their password saved anywhere. If you don't have your password, your account is gone. Thats what they say in the wallet many times, "Dont lose your password. We can't recover your password."

Some people say why don't we have a simple password recovery system as we do in emails. I don't know pal but keep the password safe until we get one. :))

3. You can't delete your posts or comments.

You can't edit or delete your posts and comments if they are older than 7 days so be wise about what you post here. If you are thinking of posting your pic here, mind you, it is gonna be here forever and you won't be able to delete it.

4. You can't reverse the transfer.

I remember a guy who accidentally transferred his funds to a wrong account. It was a huge amount, 3K Steem if I can recall correctly. Luckily, the other guy who received the fund was nice and returned the funds as it was a mistake.

However, this is a basic thing but I am still adding it and AI advice everyone to always double check the address you are sending to.

5. You can't change the first tag.

The primary tag or the first tag can't be changed once you publish the article so always check for typos in your tags before clicking that "POST" button.

6. You can't recover your Voting Power by unvoting any post.

Upvoted a wrong post accidentally? that sucks I know, but instead of removing your upvote, just go ahead and read it. If it is good and you think it is worth your upvote then keep the upvote coz appreciating something good is what people do here and unvoting is not gonna recover your VP back anyway.

7. You can't delete your account.

Have seen many people asking for help regarding account deletion. Most of them are abusers that have very low rep and don't wanna work with the same account anymore.

I know we can delete accounts from fb and if I am not wrong we can delete our email addresses too BUT unfortunately you can't delete your Steemit account. If you want a new account, feel free to use a sign up method you prefer but account deletion...Not Possible.
