I kind of do understand the parents perspective but the things that were done to prevent escalation was just simply stupid.

If your son/ daughter has Boards Exam or any exam for that matter then take away his/her Smartphone for the 3 Months of Boards and hand him/her a 500 INR Phone that has only call functionality. I remember my Mom did the exact same thing as I was kind of addicted on Clash of Clans.
