According to mills, the purpose of the acquisition is to help increase employment and expand the production of vegan products.

"This is my third purchase of a factory in the northeast to help increase employment and expand the production of vegan products, altenative dairy, meat, fish, as well as microalgae and vegan cosmetics," mills said on the company's website.
VBites, the company, founded in 1993, is one of the oldest and most well-known vegan companies producing food products.

"After 25 years of trying to communicate to people that the future is for plant food, they finally began to listen," mills said in an interview with Food Navigator.
