How much steem power you need to make a living off of it ??

well it really depends what you want to do with the steem power. Firstly you can do self votes (10x a day), or you can lease the sp out to others. A good amount would be about 50,000 sp in my opinion. For example, if you were to self upvote, that would get you around a $5 upvote, or a total of $50 per day ($1500 a month). However if you were to lease the sp out (estimating that 1 steem = 50 sp per month), you would get 1,000 steem per month. So overall at 50,000 you wouldn’t make a good amount but you would still make a decent chunk and have a chance to make a living off it. Of course you can also increase and have more sp and gain  linear amount in profits. Hope that helped!

So, self voting is not frown upon? I though it was a bad practice, like raping the pool I think it was the term given to the practice.

Some people don't like self voting, others do. Its your stake and you can do what you want with it. I consider anyone with less than 10% self voting to be good. You need to promote yourself too.
