I guess I had to wait for steemit as a social platform. I never saw the value in facebook, google hangouts or youtube. To me those all looked like kiddie playgrounds full of bullies(Trolls), and not very user friendly. So most of us new non monetary interest people are most like non-previous social media types, thus giving steemit a great advantage in learning how to build for us "social media" rejectors.
