Excessive Posting (Want to lose followers?)

in steemit •  6 years ago

Lately with the prices as they have been, it seems some are posting about every two hours or so which clogs feeds and kind of seems...EXCESSIVE! I am writing this because it makes people unfollow you. I have been here when Steem was under 70 cents. This is the financial Wild West and is all over the place but having non stop posts for auto upvotes ain't gonna really be a great long-term way to survive on here IMHO. Of course who knows.....maybe if I just post non stop every hour I can get that Lambo still.

Ways to lose followers in the 14 months I've been active on here...

  • Forget the people who helped you survive on here

  • Show no gratitude for those who keep you surviving on here... saying thank you doesn't hurt

  • Fence Sitting where nobody really knows if you are just play acting nice or are actually a total asshole

  • Post Excessively and especially what many call Shit Posting

  • Lying through your teeth when basically everyone knows you are

  • Taking advantage of others especially if they are new or can't speak the same language clearly, etc...

  • Catfishing

  • Making excessive lists so.........

I agree with all of those and I will add one here: Not being active - and that's a tricky one because a. you might be active and a lot but behind the scenes and not leaving you any time to post yourself or b. be super busy with real life jobs/matters and you can't participate as much as you would want. Being inactive certainly makes you lose followers but most of the times may actually be a bit unfair :(

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

wait. i'm supposed to be posting 20 times a day?

f@#k it figures i'm doing it wrong again.

lol

yes please, nothing is more fun then manually curating and going through 13 posts by the same person ...repeatedly

i would just un-follow everyone.

i'm only here for the trending page anyway.

i maek bot that maek meme that maek lambo, right?

Couldn't agree more.

It smells of desperation, either for money or attention. Very off-putting.

it is but I also undestand now some people are in rather dire straits, still doing posts that are literally just a pixabay pic and a borrowed sentence every hour makes me unfollow....thanks for stopping by meh blog :)

My pleasure :)

define catfishing :p

prolly way more on here then we know

You are right everyone should wait for your quality post

totally

I feel you. Feed cloggers are annoying, especially when their content isn't any good.

I like your move on the issue @battleaxe. Though, I didn't observe it but I've even learnt more from this. Thanks

Good reminder and advice for many colleagues in this network to calm down a bit!

Totally agree my Lady :)
For awhile when I started here I was posting twice a day. It was solid original Content but after awhile I found one day a Post the actual sweet spot , for me personally.

I think there are many who go overboard. Posting memes 4 times a day. And it will cost your Followers as well as credibility.

No question !!

Thanks for your post @battleaxe :)

Thanks for the hints - will keep all them in mind 😜
