I am very interested in building my own but I do not actually understand what the difference between different products are. Like I know you need a motherboard, ram, fan, power supply, storage, graphics card, processor, etc but i dont know specific products

no 1 is mother board well i like gigabye and asus mother boards with minimum 4 graphics cars slot of pci 16x the mother board should be latest and must support core i7 technology .
no 2 processor should more 3ghz
ram should be more than 12 gb
power supply u 650 to 750 wtts of crossair or thermaltake or cooler master
always select the latest generation mother board and processor so that you can find its compitialbe thing easily i think the latest generation is 6 or 7th
hard disk miimum 500 gb to 1 tb

You say 970 but show a 960? Either way, good luck out there. You're going to have to utilize the processor to mine monero in order to make any money mining..
