EXPERIMENT REVIEW - Finding the Sweet Spot on the Voting Scale

in steemit •  7 years ago

Voting Power back up to 99.15%

(or 100% before I voted for a few comments)

You might have read a post I wrote recently about starting an EXPERIMENT

The experiment had 2 goals :

  1. To allow me to vote as frequently as I like without allowing my VP to concern me
  2. To vote for people with just enough power to allow my VP to rejuvenate

The results

Since starting the experiment, at the time of the hardfork, without consciously limiting the amount of votes I give out, I have managed to get my voting power back to 100% That was just 2 weeks ago.

MY SWEET SPOT IS

for posts and

for comments (1/4 of 55)

What does it mean?

Well instead of 10 optimal votes per day as given by the latest hardfork, I can vote naturally up to 19 times a day on posts or much more on comments and still allow my Voting Power to recover by the next day.

If you're concerned about using up your Voting Power give it a try!

I don't know what to do!!! I want to upvote this post but I want to recover, what shall I do :-). I will be ordering my slider in a week or so. Hopefully things will be better then. For now I can't help it I give you my 100% cause on this U.I. thats all I can give. I'll even hit it before the curation sweet spot :-)

Your Voting Power is recovering at 1.2% per hour, so if you choose not to vote for the next 26 hours, that's how long it will take to get back to 100%. But if you don't have the slider then just don't worry about it.

Thanks for the support!

Haha, share the abundance and it will all come back around. We're all in this together!

The vote slider on chainbb is amazing it calculates how much vp you use and gives you an estimate on how many votes yoy can cast without falling below specific %.
Its practical but yoy can only use it once to get the calculationa and then transfer the % over here.
Hope I helped a bit :)

Thanks for sharing this. Off to check out Chainbb now! Cheers.

Fantastic work dude... i will try my best to follow the instructions. thanks:-)

Great experiment. I will definitely try it out.

Those are great tips, I try to keep my power between 80-100% a day... I am still adjust daily but the sweet spot of %55 looks to be on point 🙌🏼

It is for me. Try the experiment yourself to find your own ;)

Thanks for information, and experiment seems to have been worth your time and sharing the information too. Seems like the Hardfork changed quite a few things but was not here to see it! :)

There will be many more I'm sure.

I'm gonna be trying it out, although I'm really small on steemit and my 100% or any other percentage seems to be anything but a game changer. So should I just keep voting at a 100% ? I mean what difference does it make right at this level. Cheers!

If you only have less than 500 SP then you probably don't have the slider yet to adjust your %. So until then, just vote and don't worry ;)

Well, I"m too much of a minnow to have the slider.
Been hoping to reach 100% power for the first time since I have been using Steemstats and found my voting power.

Where can you change your voting power on a mobile device?

If it comes up on the computer it should also come up on the mobile. If not, maybe you need more SP before you will get the slider. It is apparently 500+ SP to get it.

Dayum I have a little ways to go just got to keep on trucking thanks for the info brother 🙏🙏

No problem bro! I'm a girl bro! :D

My bad thanks though 🙏🙏

I've just recently learned about the nuances of voting power and how the weight of votes works.
Interested in trying this out, thank you for contributing.

That sounds like a pretty good and well thought out strategy. I guess I am far more subjective with mine... on any given day, I'm all over the map between 10% and 100% upvotes on posts, and 1% and (usually) 60% on comments.

One of the things I like about the new rewards curve is that it allows for a wider range of voting weight that still "makes a difference." So far-- even when I get a little too enthusiastic--I haven't yet had my voting power drop below 75%.

I'm going to try a strategy that I started last night but placed on hold until my vote strength is back to 100%.
Since I've turned off SteemVoter I'm trying to spend a few hours a day curating and commenting and I usually upvote a minimum of 20 posts a day. This hardfork has really put a crimp in my style.

I was waiting to see what your results were. I'm still finding the "sweet spot" but I just started an experiment. Will probably post a blog about it in a day or two. :D

thank you @beanz! i keep trying to understand it fully, and feel like the worlds biggest noob, and every time i think i kind of understand now they have a new hardfork and boom, its dumb nessie again. so thank you!

That's fantastic! Thank you @beanz for working that out and sharing the results with everyone. I've been watching my stats over on steemnow.com, similar, but a little more real-time I think. I'm not at "vote slider" power yet, but this is good info to have on how to maximize my voting for when I get there.

I ended up at 85% and 22% but I am not such a consistent voter. I did like the experiment very much as it really gave me insight into how the mechanism works. I also Like the fact that I have a somewhat consistent voting strength. Thanks for the experiment.

I must check it up :)

When was the voting metter available and how many steem power it required.

500

I am so close to my slider I can taste it!

Nice idea buddy :D

Great idea, I will definitely try it out! Thanks for posting!

Sounds legit to me. Will keep your sweet spot in mind :D

I'm in!

Thanks for the idea.
