Growing up as a child, my philosophy was that 'With hard work and determination i could attain any height in life'; I never considered the role of God in churning out the destinies of men.
My mum on the other hand believed that an unshakable reliance and trust in God, coupled with hardwork and determination could send one to places he had never deamt of. Her personal philosophy was ' Trust in God and He will never disappoint you'.
Obviously my mum philosophy and mine were at parallel.
It took events and happenings of life for me to come to believe in my mum's philosopy.
Hard work X God play vital roles in succeeding in this life but others might argue its just what I believe in.
