Can We Please Turn Off Notifications! (Steemit Rant)

Rarely do I ever have notifications for anything. Steemit now has Notifications.

Please, I want NOtifications.

While NOtifications are fine for some, there is:

• NO option to turn OFF Notifications completely
• NO selection for which kind of notification we want or don't want (reply, upvote, etc)
• Mark as Read DOES NOT register.

MARK AS READ DOES NOT REGISTER

Honestly, it's the most annoying thing in the world. I see Notifications on the corner of my icon. I go to Notifications through the icon tab, hit Mark as Read, then I go to see my replies. Notifications appear again as though I had nevr checked them or hit Mark as Read. It's the same thing whether I go directly to Notifications on the Notifications Tab and bypass my image icon.

I DO NOT like that read bubble with a number. I do not like notifications. I turn those things off. I need NO Notifications and then I check what I want, when I want, when I can process it. My brain is just built like that.

I don't like notifications. I want them gone. But I can't turn them off because there is no option to turn them off.

We need these options. That way people who want notifications, have them, and people who don't, don't have them. Please!
