A Different Approach to Adolescent Violence. *comment your thoughts, like if you can agree*

I felt this way for a while now I feel like it's time that I finally came out and admit it, I have a problem. I have many problems in my life, but I am confessing to a specific one today. I have problem with all of the school shootings that have been taking place. Most people do so I'm sure each and everyone of you who reads this can relate to my problem. We can all agree that it should not be happening, though we can't agree on everything. We've all seen it we've all been in them, the constant debates about what the true issue is. Is it guns in general, do we solve our problem by getting rid of the guns? Is it that the world is just such a messed up place that it's something that we just must accept at this point? I'm sure you have your views, I know I have mine. We are all entitled to our opinions, we mustn't step on the opinions of others. I'm really wanting to voice my opinion on our problems and pose a suggestion for how we might make some real change. It would be easier than most might think. Everybody these days is connected to the internet in some way or another. It may be on your phone, desktop computer or tablet. Whatever you're using I'm sure there's one thing that is also true, if you have a child, they probably have one of those very same devices. Children as young as three years of age are likely to have at least one form of electronic device that is capable of connecting to the internet. Now our internet is special, our internet does not have censorships in place. When one connects to the internet here in the United States they can see anything that is on the internet. There are no age requirements, there are no safeguards to stop a child from going online. Whats worse, if the keystrokes match they could be subjugated to some very dark material. Now when this happens at a young age a child could be without the proper tools to handle seeing such material. This can cause some lasting psychological problems for that child. Every single day we all connect to the internet and we all probably spend a sizable amount of time. Imagine the things that you see just simply scrolling your Facebook page. I'm sure there is something on there that you do not want your three-year-old child seeing. No no matter what the site is, it doesn't have to be Facebook. The fact of the matter is very young children can be seeing images that they should not be seeing material and ideas that they have not been warned about and talked about with their parents. As parents we need to realize but this is going on, I don't believe that as parents we are preparing our children for this type of world at that age. So now I have outlined a problem, I did say that I would pose a solution to that problem. So here it is, it is very simple all that you must do is prepare your children for what they are going to see. We cannot act like the world is not as bad as it is. There are things they will see and listen to distasteful music. Music that promotes bad behavior. At that point in life they don't have the foresight of knowing the results of this bad behavior. Most music, nowadays is talking in quite quite a sexual nature no matter the genre. You must realize that when a child hears something specially at a young age they soak it up they remember it. That can be something that that child will remember and have questions about. Not knowing how to come to adults with questions about this what are children to do? Without us actively acknowledging the fact that they need the tools to handle these subjects how are we doing our jobs in preparing them for life? I think this can definitely be one of the reasons that we are seeing so many school shootings among young people. There are enough instances of for example of sexual assault happening in schools. One should ask themselves why are so many young boys feeling that it's okay, if rejected from a female to just take control of her instead. Why do so many young boys feel that it's okay to touch a touch a girl without their consent? I feel that it's because those morals in those boys simply and utterly are lacking. So I wonder why are these lacking? Is it they've not been told, is it perhaps that maybe they have been told but they simply don't understand? Whatever it be the fact of the matter is that it's happening. Not only is it happening, but it's happening here more than it is anywhere else in the developed world. Are we okay with it because we were originally founded by people who owned slaves so we had no morals to begin with? No I don't think that's it, we all want change we all want a better world. We've worked for it and we've come a long way since then. So that's what we must do now, we must work for it and we must be the reason that these issues are solved rather than standing on the sidelines and wishing that they would just go away. We must all be taught the tools to work our way through life, and once learned we must actively use and build on those tools. Most importantly we must give that knowledge and those tools to the younger generation. Perhaps then we can all live in a world where our children can go to school and not have to be worried about being shot. Perhaps then we can live in a world where a girl can grow up and know that she does not have to worry about being violated. Perhaps then we can all live in a world that each and everyone of us can be proud to have been born into.
