Dear Steemit plankton; Stay Strong

You know that saying? "Slow and steady wins the race" Is obviously not one of the most encouraging sayings out there. But then in a beautiful platform like this, it's everything to hold onto... Probably not for its surface meaning, but its unraveled meaning.

Dear fellow plankton, I know how annoying it is to stay a plankter. I once wrote a post on why being a steemit plankton sucks, but then complaining over the fact that we are plankton will neither help nor change the fact that we probably will remain plankton for couple of months.

Surviving out here on steem as a plankter is surrounded by overwhelming tasks. We are rarely noticed and often we spend a better time of our moments on steemit trying to please people who might not see our relentless efforts.

Various Steemit pro users gave us ideas on how to capture views and the big people around;

  • Write good posts
  • Comment meaningfully
  • join and participate in steemit oriented groups
  • Write consistently, etc

They gave the tips, but they forget to tell us the challenges! No matter how amazing your posts are, as a newbie, there is a 97% chance that it's not going to be seen or read; The biggest struggle amongst our troubles.

If you are a baby newbie, then a warm welcome to you. A special shout out to @wokejijasper and @alluringodyssey for being one of the new members in the steem community.

I have heard steemians complain over the fact that their amazing posts never get seen and how discouraging it is. You might be tempted to leave after five or more of your amazing posts are left with little or no interactions. But then I have got something for you my fellow plankton. Patience is Virtue!

I know how challenging it is for you because I swim in the same ocean as you do. If you lack patience, you might find yourself leaving after the first 1-2weeks of being on steemit with little or no likes to encourage you. Remember that being a newbie anywhere is just as difficult as being a newbie on steemit. Remember the moment you found yourself in a new school?

Be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day and whales did not become whales overnight.

Encourage yourself

Sometimes, when there is nothing or anyone to encourage you, encourage yourself. Let yourself know that the future is bright and promising, Just like you told yourself while growing up.

Starting out is difficult, but growing is amazing. We will definitely not remain plankton all our lives. What matters is how fast we move away from being plankton.

Don't Be Discouraged

It is definitely not funny when you spent a good percentage of your time writing great posts but in the long run, they all fail to make even a few cents. Trust me, I know the feeling.

Don't be sad if your first posts doesn't make much. It is actually normal and somewhat expected. Remember that you are a newbie who may have to keep posting consistently before seeing see tangible results.

Dear plankter, stay strong

Someday, you will look back at your moments on steemit as an unnoticed plankton and give a big smile.

The biggest struggle is the fact that I don't really want to post about cryptocurrencies, but that's where the most money is.

Most of it... But we obviously can't force ourselves into where doesn't fit.

Yeah, mostly I just post whatever interests me, hopefully, the earnings will become more evenly distributed among topics.

Yeah, hopefully.

I know! That does suck! Just post your stuff anyway and eventually you'll have some people come by. Just make sure what you post is useful! You'll get there!

Welcome sweetheart... Here to grow together.

This is indeed true. Whales were once planktons. Overtime, diligence, a willing to learn and provide value, we'll grow!

Just gotta be patient!

Found this on the Steemit Discord! Thanks for the post!
