Children are not our future. We are their future! And what Steemit could mean for that.

How often have you already heard this sentence: "Children are our future."? It seems to be so right... when they are grown up, they will be the new governments and entrepreneurs and scientists...

Connected to that sentence is always the hope that they will do a better job than we do.

The hope that they will find solutions to our global problems:
war, poverty, hunger, the climate change, plastic in our oceans, ressources getting empty, the rain forest being destroyed... the list can be made much longer than that.

I am a mother of three girls. I tell you something: my kids are no superheroes! They are just like you and me, when we were children. They have no better brains, they just want to live.

And I think they want to live in a peaceful world. With enough to eat. With a roof on top of everybody. On a planet that can manage mankind.

Our children are not meant to be our superherous. Saving us from all the things, that WE did wrong.
WE have to change something.
By now! WE have to save the world. Why should they, when we didn't put enough efforts in it?

We create a future to our children, where they MUST be superheroes.
Because there won't be another way to live in it. Do you want to be a superhero? With everything that people will await from you, when you are one? CAN you be one? Can our children be?

I don't want my children to be forced being superheroes. I want them to live on a peaceful planet, that can manage mankind. We are used in thinking that anyone will do the job for us. What will happen, if there isn't anybody willing to do it?

It is OUR task to do something.
Not the task of our children. Leaving it up to them is foul play!

Children are not our future. We are THEIR future.

I really wish that Steemit will get more applications to connect clever people in the whole world.
People who want to find solutions. Where are "Steemit Brainpools" for these things? We can do this all together! A worldwide community apart from governments that most of the time act in their own egoistic interests. Before we don't start thinking, we won't find solutions. We are many people here.
We could create power, if we wanted to.

Unfortunately I can't build these applications. I am just a mother. Of three beautiful girls who want their future. What can we do for them? And are we not already living in a future? Is it already the one we wanted, when we were children? And what the hell is wrong about dreaming of a peaceful world like a child?

I'm really sorry about that... but I guess we ourselves have to be the superheroes we ask for. And I am convinced we can be. By taking global issues for serious.
By staying positive (a superhero will always be, right?). And by willing to find that solutions! Let us do it! We haven't even started yet. As a worldwide community overtaking power by technology. So we are no superheroes, but we could be superheroes in trying to be superheroes. We can try at least.

Thank you ma

YES!!!!! I love this post...
I cant even begin to express how important we are right now. Nobody is going to make the change ... we must... and it must be now!

Thank you so much! :-)

Nice point of view!
We are the ones who are in charge right now, so it's on us if our children will be able to handle it in the future.
That reminds me of the following statement from Ashton Kutcher which I completely second:

That's right. I guess, both is right. Doing something right now and making better children.
