Are Steem overvalued or undervalued ?

in steemit •  8 years ago

I am still wondering how overvalued or undervalued Steem currency might be.

Steemit is a great platform, but I am not sure it's reasonable to see price of steem around 3-4$ at this point.

What do you think about it ?

When Ethereum has a market cap of 1 billion USD, the 300 million USD market cap of Steemit is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to less.

Have to agree with @shemthepenman. Slightly over-rated at the moment. But I guess we're probably transiting from stealth phase to awareness phase now. So, I believe the price at the moment may no longer be classed 'over-priced' in future. I've faith in this.

Isn't the currency being doubled each year a problem for growth itself ? Or I am not thinking right.

The math isn't 100% clear to me either, but the whitepaper says there is a 3.5yr cycle that resets Steem 1:10.

Could you elaborate more on it ?

It depends. Have you read the whitepaper, do you know where to find it? It is in the menu, in the upper right hand corner, third link from the top.

It will work like this: today, you have 10.40 Steem. Tomorrow, you have 1.04 Steem. And everyone else too.

for the short term.. overvalued, but for the long term, i think it has a long way to go.

Not even ethereum has managed to go over 20$ so far. With a supply that is less than Steem and a lot more going on I'd say. I heard that steem currency will double each year aswell.
