My Afternoon Video Blog/Vlog- "Steemit Culture: Have We Begun To Develop Our Own Lingo Without Even Realizing It?"steemCreated with Sketch.

Have you noticed something really interesting happening? We as Steemians are developing our own sub-culture and I find it to be a very positive sign when it comes to the direction in which we are going!

Most of your social media websites have come up with their own lingo that has now become part of everyday language and expression. Some of these terms are coined by the developers and others words and phrases have been created by individual users and have taken off with tremendous popularity. For example, we've all referred to "googling" when wanting to look up something on the largest search engine platform. It's a very unique language....A jargon, you could say!

Recently, I have been observing this same trend to be happening in the world of Steemit and I couldn't be any more enthused about it! If you were to tell a non-Steemian to "resteem" something, they would probably stare at you and think you were talking about steaming vegetables or going to the dry-cleaners. LOL!

Even if you don't include the key phrases that have always existed on Steemit, we as users have also develop our own set of words or phrases that can be unique in nature.

For instance, my friend @sandstorm and I were talking about a post of his and a term he had coined that fit the situation. One day while in traffic, he had to think quickly or an accident might have happened as a result of another driver's carelessness.

He said it would have been easy to have gotten angry and reacted the wrong way, but instead he decided to rise above it and "BOSSUP". In other words, he had to get serious and not get pulled into the emotion of that hectic moment. I commented on that post and basically said that that term struck a chord with me and that it should become a hashtag.... #BossUp .

Here is a link to his original blog post...

Since then, He and I have been using that term as a reminder to stay positive and let it all roll off, instead of letting any tough situation at hand get the better of us. Thanks @standstorm for inspiring me and for giving me permission to talk about this most interesting topic.

Thanks so much for checking out my video blog/vlog. Please consider upvoting & resteeming as I do appreciate it very much! Don't forget to comment below and to follow me @breakingtonight for more interesting blogs and vlogs!

That's really cool! Thanks for the update, @randowhale

Great video. For some reason, people tend to think that reacting out of anger is a sign of strength. I personally believe that what Sandstorm did shows much more strength and self-control.

Proverbs 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

#Bossup :)

I love that Scripture, @livingwaters
I really do appreciate your comments and ideas! Have a blessed evening!

This is a very good vlog and a reminder to take the high road in these kinds of situations.

I appreciate your comment, @suziescornee 😊

@breakingtonight , That was awesome man! Spreading the word and pointing out about the lingo of Steemit, which I honestly never really thought about, but it's right here in front of us and it's unique. Thanks a lot for the mention dude!

@sandstorm
You are welcome, my friend! It's really fun when a couple of people can put their minds together and collaborate! Have a great day! :)

@breakingtonight , That's the best part of this place so far that Ive noticed, people give a crap about each other and about ideas and about furthering them as a group or as a community together. Just awesome!
